SULFUR DIOXIDE (SO2)

SCIAMACHY DOAS V1.0.3 SO2 total columns for China, 0.25x0.25 degree resolution (2007)

The data and images emerged from the analysis of TEMIS/PROMOTE SCIAMACHY DOAS v1.0.3 level 3 SO2 total column gridded data.

Data Images: Maps with the annual SO2* total column means (DU), the standard deviation and the number of months with available data for each grid. *Vertical column depth 1 (vcd1) retrieved assuming a 1km thick plume situated 1km above local ground level

 

Data in Ascii: a file in dat format with the latitude, the longitude, the annual mean vertical column depth 1 (vcd1) retrieved assuming a 1km thick plume situated 1km above local ground level, the standard deviation of vcd1, the annual mean vertical column depth 2 (vcd2) retrieved assuming a 1km thick plume situated 6km above local ground level, the standard deviation of vcd2, the annual mean vertical column depth 3 (vcd3) retrieved assuming a 1km thick plume situated 14km above local ground level, the standard deviation of vcd2 and the number of months with available data for each grid.

All values data: All level 3 gridded SO2 measurements within each 0.25x0.25 degree grid.

columns: latitude center, longitude center, year, month, day, julian day, decimal year, day of the week (1-7 for Monday-Sunday), vcd1 (DU), vcd1 error (DU), vcd2 (DU), vcd2 error (DU), vcd3 (DU), vcd3 error (DU), cloud fraction (0-1, -1 for snow)

 

Monthly means data: SO2 total column monthly means for each 0.25x0.25 degree grid.

columns: month, monthly mean vcd1 (DU), vcd1 standard deviation, number of vcd1 measurements per month, monthly mean vcd2 (DU), vcd2 standard deviation, number of vcd2 measurements per month, monthly mean vcd3 (DU), vcd3 standard deviation, number of vcd3 measurements per month.

 

Graphs: Figures with all vcd1 measurements and vcd1 monthly means for each 0.25x0.25 degree grid.

 

(The vcd1 data are supossed to be used for air quality assessment purposes)
