METHANE (CH4)
SCIAMACHY WFM-DOAS v1.0 XCH4 (Global), 10x10 degree resolution (2004)
The data and images emerged from the analysis of SCIAMACHY WFM-DOAS v1.0 level 2b methane dry-air column averaged mole fraction (XCH4) swath data.*
Data Images: Maps with the annual XCH4 means, the standard deviation and the number of months with available data for each grid.
Data in Ascii: a file in dat format with the latitude, the longitude, the annual XCH4 means, the standard deviation and the number of months with available data for each grid.
BACK DATA:
All values data: All XCH4 sinlge pixel measurements within each 1x1 degree grid.
columns: year, month, julian day, decimal year, latitude center, longitude center, latitude corner 1, latitude corner 2, latitude corner 3, latitude corner 4, longitude corner 1, longitude corner 2, longitude corner 3, longitude corner 4, CH4 total column (molec./cm^2), CH4 error (%), CH4 quallity flag (1:bad), XCH4 (ppb), XCH4 error (%), XCH4 quality flag (1:bad)
Monthly means data: XCH4 monthly means for each 1x1 degree grid.
columns: year, month, decimal year, XCH4 monthly mean (ppb), standard deviation (ppb), sum of XCH4 single pixel measurements for each month, sum of XCH4 single pixel measurement squares for each month, number of single pixel measurements per month
Graphs: Figures with all XCH4 sinlge pixel measurements and XCH4 monthly means for each 1x1 degree grid.
*This is the standard WFM-DOAS product which presents a low bias of of 2%. In order to be used for a detailed quantitative analysis the data have to be scaled by 1.02 as discussed in Schneising et al., 2009. A CarbonTracker corrected dataset is available from IUP Bremen.
